Eggstravaganza

eggstravaganza-egg-in-basketIt may have begun as a pagan emblem of the earth, but soon early Christians adopted the egg as a symbol of rebirth.  Each year, the week before Easter, our church hosts an”Eggstravaganza” where kids can hunt for Easter eggs, dye their eggs far away from Mom’s beige carpet and eat all the candy they can sneak before bed.  Most importantly, they present the real meaning of Easter with a kid-friendly explanation of the Resurrection Eggs.

eggstravaganza-egg-in-slideEven though this was her third Eggstravaganza, Lillyan was finally old enough to really enjoy the “hunting” part.

eggstravaganza-tough-bunnyThat’s one tough bunny.  Her favorite part of the evening was getting this butterfly tattoo.  It’s a big butterfly week at our house.  She walked around like this all night showing it off.
